Global warming!
You may have heard about all the rustle about global warming and the world ending and how we ourselves are ruining the earth and it's objects. I believe the earth is not going to die because it is solid rock and can withstand anything. It's more likely that we will die because of what we are doing and the needs of our lives. One big thing people are trying to do is convince automobile companies to make hybrid cars. As we all know hybrid means it uses two or more power sources to power itself or something. In this case we are using gasoline which harms the environment and electricity based engines, this still harms the environment and is not fully electric. So, it helps the problem but does not solve it as many people think. Their are many fully electric cars but they cost big stack of cash to buy or to maintain. One of my family members bought a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Volt on Christmas and hated it. He said you have to charge it which takes the same amount of money of electricity costs as gasoline prices so their is no difference. Also, because of the high voltage the car puts out it causes the gears to wear away extremely fast. It took my cousin only two rides to completely make his gears dull. That brings in an extra cost. The only good thing is the oil free breaks and spark plugs. If you add up the costs of maintenance and electricity for this vehicle it is pretty much the same cost of a normal cars gasoline and maintenance. Many people use solar panels that I believe people will use until the Sun's power runs out. They convert solar energy into electricity or for heating water. These power savers are not as expensive as electric cars and are easy to install. I think these are the most common things used to save power and conserve energy. I feel that global warming is important and people should start taking it more seriously because they will only start to understand when it is actually happening.

Nice blog post Emil. Great topic to discuss on. I really liked how you but your car knowledge and your global warming knowledge to compare them. I thought that you probably did some research on this like you do on your other blogs, but anyways i like how you put research into your blogs. I'm pretty sure you met the requirement of 250 words, so once again really nice post/essay.
