For the past month or so, we have learned about applying for college, writing resumes, writing letters of recommendation and of course being interviewed for a job. My favorite of all the topics was being interviewed. I liked this of all the topics because you got to talk and not get in trouble for it. A big bonus was that you got to talk about things and topics you liked and it wasn't any random conversation you have with a friend or parent. some things I learned on this are that applying for a job is much harder than I thought it was and I know what the difference between hard and easy. Also I never knew or probably would ever know that you have to type a college essay as a part of your application to college. I never thought that you need a college essay because my parents never mentioned anything like it and I am pretty sure my parents and I talk about school all the time, so I find that kind of ironic.
Also, I thought that colleges accepted people by students going to the college and taking a test course similar to the SA but, I guess i was wrong. Another thing I learned is that conversations with someone in a higher stance than you is much much harder as I imagined it would be in my mind. I believe it is harder than talking to a friend because that person is towering over you with power and that makes me very uncomfortable. Many things were learned during this lesson, but these made me think the most and I thought were totally new to me.
Emil good post. This was one of my favorite things about the unit, too. I love getting interviewed, but its scary sometimes who interviewing you. Like you said they can have much more power then you. I know no one would want to mess up a interview when your interviewing for a job. Now, you and me are both prepared for when we apply for a job. Very nice blog post.
